Still Automatic

Hatred of Release -- Out NOW on iTunes & Amazon MP3

Hi! Updates!

Hey everybody!  So its been a while since I’ve sent an update here (I definitely fit into that lazy punk rocker stereotype) so here’s a quick run down of the goings on in the Still Automatic camp:

- We recruited our friend Jon into the band to be our second guitar player and we couldn’t be more excited about it.  He’s an awesome dude, so be sure to say what’s up to him at our next show.

- We’re playing Studio 7 on February 8th.. a Sunday I believe.. with our friends Elude and some other bands (hopefully).  It should be a really good time, although, I’m not allowed to get drunk during the set (I get too sloppy and fun).  I will, however, be hanging around afterwards to party with you guys!

- We have a limited run of T-shirts designed by Tyler @ doomtoof design, and they are sweet!  You can order them on our facebook merch page, or come to one of our shows!  We’re shipping them with a download card with 25 songs on it, so be sure to get on that shit!

- There are plans to record again this year, no word yet on if it’ll be another single or a full-length.  We definitely have the material to put something together, but since punk is punk again, we have to figure out how to pay for it!  Kickstarter maybe?  Monthly downloads maybe?  I dunno… we’ll see.

That’s all I got for now.  I hope everyone is having a solid 2012 so far, and we’ll see you out there!

Studio Update: A taste of Christmas Chaos

We’re currently in the studio recording our take on a classic Christmas carol to be premiered online sometime before the holidays wrap up.  We’re having a great time, and it’s sounding exceptional.  We can’t wait for everyone to hear it!

Also we’ve begun pre-production work on our debut full-length that we’re hoping to release at some point next year.  Stay tuned for some more video webisodes to track our progress (or regress as it often may be).

Take care,

Adam

8 Years 2 Days Premiere

Jeff @ needledropradio.com will be premiering a track off our upcoming EP on his weekly podcast.  This one will drop on August 10th, which is tomorrow, so don’t forget to check it out!  It’ll be available on iTunes for all you iPhone wizards out there, as well as on needledropradio.com.

These podcasts are really great, and I recommend to everyone that you listen to the previous episodes as well.  My favorite is the short music episode…

See ya,

Adam

"Hatred of Release" Review on PMPDblog

The first review for “Hatred of Release” was released today by the punk blogging site PMPDblog.  It’s awesome to be compared to the monumental talents of bands such as Bad Religion, NOFX, Propagandhi, and Green Day… so thanks!

Still Automatic

—By your side

I first heard this song about a year ago when I joined the band.  Tony had written it in the years between writing music for Hat Trick and forming Still Automatic, but he always seemed hesitant to let people hear it.  Maybe because of some notion that punk rockers are the wrong audience for ballads, or maybe because internally the song didn’t meet his expectations.  In any case, I love it, and I refused to let him keep it to himself!  I think all you out there in the ether will enjoy it as well so here it is.

The song was self produced and recorded by Bryan at his home studio, and self released by us on iTunes.  Hope you enjoy it and stay tuned for Hatred of Release, out August 16th on iTunes and Amazon mp3 via When’s Lunch Records.

Later,

Adam
